About
In 2001, we sat and watched on ESPN a competition that took place in Italy in 2000. In this competition, teenagers from 13 countries in the world participated in 9 disciplines on quarter horses borrowed from Italy. The competition was organized by the largest horse association in the world, the American AQHA.
At that time I served on the professional committee of the National Equestrian Federation. I called AQHA together with my good friend Tamar Milo, and we asked how to join. They told us to set up a branch of Quater Horses in Israel and we would invite you.
We established a branch, with the blessing of the National Association for Equestrian Sports and with the blessing of the Sports Director, we established a youth group from among the riders who rode in the association at that time and we started holding enrichment workshops for the youth. The first workshop we held was a reining workshop with Grisha Ludwig.
At the time, in the National Association for Equestrian Sports, they competed in three disciplines - Western Pleasure, Trail Class and Reining. It was a lot of work to teach everyone else and in the process to establish an association and register as a branch.
In the summer of 2001, we went with the youth to Italy to train with an all-around coach named Linda Long. During that entire period Moshe Aviv supported us generously and we named the team the Aviv team after him. We learned horsemanship, showmanship, hunter under saddle, hunt seat equitation, western riding. and cutting.......and in 2002 we went for the first time to a World Cup competition held in Amarillo, Texas. And so my and Tamar's mission began.
When we returned we decided to try to convince the National Equestrian Federation to bring in judges who could also judge our youth in all the required disciplines and they could not assure us that it was possible..
At this stage, there was nothing left but to split from the association and we decided to establish another league in Israel that would answer our needs.
We held 5 competitions a year, with multiple participants (500-600 entries) which allowed us to hold allotments at a competitive price. Our competitions were judged by judges from abroad only and mostly from the United States.

The association finances the youth activities in the even years except for the plane ticket and in the odd years the productions are self-financed.
In addition to all of these, the association's office is run in Moshav Paran, whose role it is to help all owners of quaters in the country who are interested in you with all services such as foal registration, stud reports, issuing lost certificates, ordering genetic kits and support in general.
We recently established a branch of the pints and pintos and received permission to register pintos in Israel.
